I am the mother of three. I am a fine art graduate and seamstress.
I live in Frome a beautiful town in the heart of Somerset with my partner and our three children.
I have a great passion for handcrafts, natural sustainable materials and teaching the skills I have learnt.
It is my love of Children, handcraft skills and sustainability that is how Sewing Seeds has been established.
I have extensive experience working as a handcrafts professional, and working with children, within childcare and the arts and crafts sector. I pride myself on my handcraft skills and find great passion in teaching these skills, to both adults and children alike. Having recently moved from London I have a vast amount of experience running a variety of workshops from adult sewing workshops to childrens handcraft sessions and Forest and rural arts group sessions for under 5's.
I strive to dress my own children in good quality fun and comfortable clothing that is also durable and long lasting. It is with this in mind that I have created these designs for my childrens wear collection.
In my endeavour to dress my children in sustainable high quality wool clothing I have developed a sustainable format for buying and selling high quality wool clothing.
SEWING SEEDS TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability means a lot of things to a lot of different people. But for me it means, growing what fruit and veg I can in my garden with my three children, foraging edibles on walks with the family, making myself and my children handmade clothing, buying handmade/recycled/preloved/vintage/unisex/quality clothing that can be passed down all three of my children and further, no plastic toys and teaching others the joy of handcraft skills like sewing, embroidery and weaving, among other useful skills like darning and upcycling garments.
It is these endevours of mine that have brought me to Sewing Seeds. No one is perfect but we can all try our best at what we are best at. So here I am Sewing my own seeds towards developing a sustainable clothing brand for many others to enjoy, sewing their own seeds the best way they can.
